Frequently Asked Questions

How do I purchase a W Tool?

What is the lead time for orders?

  • Most orders ship within 2-4 business days. If there is a delay, we will reach out right away.

How do I send a tool in for repair?

  • Please contact us by email us or the form below with a brief description of the issue, your return address, and a phone number. In some cases -- like a worn O-ring -- we may be able to walk you through a simple fix using the included maintenance kit. However, most repairs require hands-on evaluation. We ask that you send the tool to:

Weddle Tool Company

1419 Sam Mason Rd.

Attn: Repairs

Bunker Hill, WV 25413

You can browse and purchase common repairs like powerhead replacement and slide tube upgrade/replacement in our online shop, but please note that these services require you to send the tool in for hands-on evaluation and repair.

What is your warranty policy?

  • WTC offers a one-year warranty on covering manufacturing defect in materials and workmanship. For full terms and details, please view our warranty policy.

What type of hydraulic fluid does the tool take? Do I need to check or refill it?

  • The W Tool uses standard hydraulic jack oil, available at most auto parts retailers. You may need to check and refill the fluid occasionally. We have provided a guide on how to do this in our Training and Resources page.

The W Tool flat head plate fell out or won't stay in -- what should I do?

  • The flathead plate is the attachment that inserts into the powerhead (hydraulic jack). It's held in place by a small rubber O-ring, which can wear out over time and may need occasional maintenance.

Each W Tool ships with a maintenance kit that includes a spare O-ring, lubricant, and instructions. If your flathead plate won't stay in place, the O-ring may be missing or damaged -- but this is usually a quick, user-serviceable fix.

To maintain the O-ring:

  • Lightly lubricate both the flathead shaft and the O-ring

  • Replace the O-ring if it's damaged or stretched

  • If needed, you can purchase a new maintenance kit here

How should the W Tool be stored when not in use?

  • The W Tool may be stored on its side inside or outside of the carrying case. It may also be stored upright, provided it is secured so it cannot fall over.

  • If stored upright, the slide tube (ram end) should face down. Never stand the tool upright on the hydraulic powerhead, and do not store or handle the tool in an inverted position.

  • After each use, close the powerhead control valve fully (turn clockwise) before storing the tool. Leaving the valve open during storage can allow air into the hydraulic system and may affect performance.

Does the W Tool contain California Proposition 65 Chemicals?

  • The W Tool is manufactured by Weddle Tool Company and is not designed to contain, and is not known to contain, chemicals currently listed under California Proposition 65.

Some product configurations include a vinyl carrying case supplied with the tool. The carrying case includes vinyl materials and carries a Proposition 65 warning as disclosed by its manufacturer. California regulations require this notice even when chemical-specific attribution is not provided.
